So about an hour or two ago, I signed up for Weight Watchers, something I never thought I'd do. Not that it was never needed but because, I'm used to doing things on my own, especially losing weight. I lost 100 pounds on my own, most through good old-fashion diet & exercise and the rest while in the Empire State, where it's hard not to lose weight. Anyway, two years ago when I left there, I put on 15 pounds almost immediately and then 15 more when I went back to the job that I'd left for New York...So there's the tip of the iceberg...
Three weeks ago, I decided it was time to take this weight off, forreal now. For the first time in a really long time I felt ready and committed. Two days in, I fell while running and got pretty banged up. I knew something had finally clicked inside me when after a day of rest, I was back at it, in pain, but determined.
So after hearing of a friend's success with Weight Watchers, I decided that learning how to eat would do me some good, as would soliciting help. I decided I would start tomorrow after three weeks of working out, hoping I'd made a dint in my goal. After 2.2 pounds lost in three weeks of working out 5-6 times/week, Weight Watchers was definitely looking good (I've been known to lose a pound a day). I signed up & didn't feel the earth move, but as I looked at my points and started planning meals in my head, I had an epiphany. I'm not losing weight at the rate I could because I'm not eating enough!!! With the exception of my time in the Big Apple, the concept of not eating enough is foreign to me. But there it is. So armed with what I've learned, here goes!
