My Latest Love!

Shortly after the new year, I decided I was buying a Wii.  I'd been thinking about it for over a year, but it wasn't until Christmas Day while playing it with mi familia and seeing how much fun it was that I knew I had to make it mine.  As usual, it wasn't long before the thought left my mind, traveled down to my fingers and landed on twitter and/or facebook.  I think I posted "I've decided to get a Wii for my half birthday, contributions are welcomed lol." Obviously, I was joking about the contributions part but later on that day I saw that one of my parentals had responded and said that she and my Dad would get it for me.  I was taken aback and didn't really believe, but responded anyway with "Is this really happening?!?! Just in case it is I would like a red wii console with the Michael Jackson Experience..." Many facebook messages and a couple months later, my wii & a wii fit that I didn't even ask for but am so grateful to have entered my door in the arms of my Dad.  The reason they got it for me was "because you never ask for anything." Which is mostly true.  I don't ask because I don't think people have it to give and I don't want to put them out by making them feel obligated to.  Also, I probably don't trust that they will give me what I want so I just do it myself.  I'm working on that but, in the area of accepting appealing offers, I'm excelling and I haven't always been able to say that! Anywho...

After nine days of Just Dance, it has to be my favorite workout ever!! Like I'm smiling for most of the time that I'm doing it, which NEVER happens when it comes to me and exercise.  I think I've always loved to dance but I don't often "break it down" in public, so I don't get the enjoyment or cardiovascular benefits that I do at home.  And while this will not end my visits to dance class, once in a while will do now that I have a dance class of one in my living room!!! I LOVE IT!!

"You can't eat just one"...

When it comes to potato chips, for me, the above has never been true, but candy, cookies, brownies, and other things of the sugary and/or chocolately variety are another story.

In years past when I have given up sugar and/or chocolate for Lent, I have gone through serious withdrawals, to the point where it was apparent to those around me and folks knew to give me some space for a couple days.  Yeah, that serious!  So this is why it's difficult and sometimes impossible for me to have just one.  This is the reason why I only bake & take...as in away, to work, to a party, as a gift, etc.

Anywho, this weekend I found myself with a brownie craving, which went on for a couple days.  Being on the health-conscious path that I'm on, I know better than to do big baking on the weekends, so I did a quick google search and found a recipe for a single brownie that had a five-star rating.  It took three trials for me to get it right but last night when I did, it was scrum-diddly!!! Only a scoop of vanilla ice cream could have made it better, if only!!  At 290 Calories & 15 grams of fat, this recipe is by no means low-fat or healthy but it's better than eating half a pan of brownies or being tempted to do so.  Anywho, see the recipe below:

2 tbs sugar
2 tbs flour
1 tbs cocoa powder
a dash of salt
1 tbs vegetable oil
1 tbs water
small microwave safe bowl

1. Mix all of the dry ingredients together FIRST.  (This is key.  I don't usually follow or stick to recipes, except for when I bake!!!)  2. Add the oil and water and mix well. 3. Microwave for about a minute. (More or less depending on your microwave).4. Enjoy!!
